One-Visit Crowns at Your McKinney Dentist

As a busy professional myself, I understand the need for convenience. If you’re like me and most of my patients, you probably have children, work, and commitments – and all of these things cut into the time you have for yourself… to take good care of yourself. When I heard about in-office CAD/CAM technology for milling and placing custom porcelain dental crowns in one visit, I had to learn more.

In the past, you know, crowns required two dental visits at minimum. You’d wear a temporary while a lab fabricated a permanent crown. That temporary may crack or fall out, in which case you’d have to rush to the dentist’s office for help.

After trying out E4D, the one-visit or one-hour crown technology, I was hooked. This amazing technology is extremely precise. Three-dimensional imaging software allows me to customize a crown that will fit perfectly in a patient’s bite. Once the plan is generated, the computer sends it to a milling unit in our office. From a shade-matched porcelain block, the milling machine sculpts the crown, and it only takes about an hour. (more…)
